At 20 years old, I crossed the Atlantic by sail, I learned that 80% of accidents at sea happen while urinating.
Sabords is much more than just underwear; it's the result of a personal, creative, and technical journey that spanned several years. An invention born from the desire to transform an everyday essential garment by introducing a novel innovation.
A Long-Term Project
It all started with a simple yet ambitious idea: to completely rethink how men's underwear could be designed and worn. But between the concept and the final product, there was a long journey filled with prototypes, meticulous adjustments, and technical collaborations. An Unconventional Process
For nearly two years, I developed Sabords through trial, error, and fine-tuning. The initial prototypes were basic experiments, born from the first cut to create a different opening. These models, although promising, were not yet up to the comfort and practicality I aimed to deliver.
Thanks to talented seamstresses, first in the workshops of La Roche-sur-Yon, I learned the art of pattern making, ideal seams, and material selection. When these workshops shut down, I decided to elevate the project by collaborating with the EMO workshops in Troyes, the cradle of French textile excellence. These highly experienced seamstresses, aided by high-performance machines, brought precision and industrial quality that finalized Sabords into its current form. A Refined, Tested, and Unique Product
To reach the product you hold in your hands, every detail was tested and refined multiple times
This is a process that only a personal endeavor, outside the constraints of a typical business, could achieve. A business would never have dedicated so much time, care, and attention to a product, as it exceeds conventional profitability logic.
