From Traditional Boxer Briefs to Anatomical Underwear

Two Approaches to Men’s Underwear

For decades, men’s briefs and boxer briefs have relied on essentially the same principle: the penis and testicles share the same front area.

SABORDS® takes a different approach: separating testicular support from penis positioning.

This men's boxer brief comparison highlights the key differences between traditional boxer briefs and SABORDS® anatomical underwear, including testicular support, penis positioning, intimate hygiene, and ease of use.

Traditional Boxer Briefs or Briefs

The front of traditional underwear accommodates both the penis and testicles.

This provides overall support, but keeps everything together in the same space.

SABORDS® Anatomical Boxer Briefs or Briefs

SABORDS® reorganizes the front.

The penis passes through an anatomical opening and is positioned separately beneath a soft protective cover flap.

The entire front area can then be dedicated to supporting the testicles.

Testicular Support: Shared Space or Dedicated Space?

With Traditional Boxer Briefs

The penis and testicles share the same front area.

The fabric therefore supports and contains everything together.

With SABORDS®

The penis no longer occupies the testicular support area.

The entire front of the boxer briefs can be dedicated to supporting the testicles.

Penis positioning and testicular support become two separate functions.

The entire front of SABORDS® anatomical boxer briefs is dedicated to testicular support.

With the cover flap lifted, the SABORDS® anatomical design is clearly visible: the penis has a separate opening, while the entire front of the boxer briefs remains dedicated to supporting the testicles. Short caption

Urinating: Two Very Different Movements

Comparison of the position for urination with traditional boxer briefs and SABORDS® anatomical underwear: traditional boxer briefs require pulling down the waistband, while SABORDS® provides front access while keeping the waistband in place.

Urinating with Traditional Boxer Briefs

To take the penis out without pulling the underwear down, the waistband generally has to be pulled down and held beneath the penis.

One hand keeps the waistband lowered while the other positions the penis.

Until the last drop, the elastic waistband remains under tension.

Simply lift the cover flap and bring the penis through the anatomical opening.

The waistband stays in place.

Depending on the pants, the penis can naturally rest against the folds of the open fly. One hand — and sometimes both — can then be completely free.

The difference is especially noticeable at the end of urination: no waistband to keep pulling down, allowing a more relaxed position.

One hand can hold the penis to direct the urine stream, while the other hand remains completely free.

After Urinating: The Difference Continues

With Traditional Boxer Briefs

Sequence showing how the penis is repositioned after urinating while wearing traditional boxer briefs: one hand pulls and holds the waistband while the other returns the penis inside the underwear.

After urinating, one hand still holds the waistband down while the other holds the penis.

The waistband must be pulled slightly farther down and away from the body to return the penis inside.

With SABORDS®

There is no waistband to hold down.

Both hands can be available for wiping, then the penis simply returns beneath the cover flap.

Less pulling. Fewer adjustments. A simpler movement.

There is no waistband to hold down.

Both hands can be free for wiping, and the penis is then simply placed back beneath the cover flap.

These innovative boxer briefs are built around a simple principle: a patented anatomical opening that separates testicular support from penis positioning.

Intimate Hygiene: What Does Direct Access Change?

Urination isn’t the only moment when direct access matters.

Washing the glans and foreskin, rinsing, drying, perspiration, moisture and residual drops can all make underwear design relevant to everyday intimate hygiene.

With traditional boxer briefs, intimate washing generally requires lowering the underwear.

With SABORDS®, the penis can be accessed while the boxer briefs and testicular support remain in place.

Both hands are then available for washing, rinsing and drying.

In Motion: Contained or Free to Move?

With Traditional Boxer Briefs

The penis and testicles remain contained together within the same front area.

Movement is limited by the fabric holding everything close to the body.

With SABORDS®

The testicles remain supported while the penis retains a slight natural freedom of movement beneath the cover flap.

While walking, it can gently move from side to side with the movement of the legs.

Under pants, this movement is invisible.

What changes is the sensation: less constant pressure at the front and greater freedom of movement.

Some qualities are difficult to explain. You discover them by wearing them.

SABORDS® anatomical boxer briefs separate penis positioning from testicular support. The penis remains free beneath the protective cover flap and directly accessible, while the testicles are supported within the dedicated front area of the underwear.

Should Comfort Have to Look Good?

Men’s boxer briefs have taught us to expect a smooth, compact, well-defined front.

It looks good.

But once your pants are on, that carefully shaped front is barely visible.

The comfort, however, stays with you for hours.

And SABORDS® still gives you a choice. When desired, the penis can temporarily be positioned back inside, limiting movement and creating a more traditional boxer-brief silhouette.

A few minutes of appearance. Hours of comfort.

The waistband gets noticed. The cut gets felt.

Aesthetics: How Much Does It Really Matter?

Realistically, how much time do we actually spend each day wearing boxer briefs without pants over them?

Ten minutes in the morning, twenty minutes in the evening? Maybe less.

The rest of the time, we’re either dressed or we take off our underwear to sleep.

The appearance of our boxer briefs is visible for only a few minutes. Their comfort, however, stays with us for hours.

Under Your Pants, Comfort Comes First

With Traditional Boxer Briefs

Illustration showing how traditional boxer briefs keep the penis close to the body, creating areas of pressure and contact during everyday wear.

The genitals are held together and pressed against the body. Their freedom of movement is restricted by the fabric.

With SABORDS® Anatomical Boxer Briefs

Illustration showing how SABORDS® anatomical boxer briefs allow the penis to rest in a more natural position, with greater freedom of movement and reduced contact with the body.

The feeling is different, and the position is more natural.

While walking, the penis retains a slight degree of freedom and naturally follows the movement of the legs.

This provides some of the freedom of boxers, combined with the testicular support of boxer briefs.

Under pants, this slight movement remains invisible.

The freedom of boxers. The support of boxer briefs.

What About Intimate Hygiene?

The SABORDS® design also changes everyday intimate hygiene: easier access, greater airflow, and simpler washing and drying.

A New Step in the Evolution of Traditional Boxer Briefs

SABORDS® builds on the familiar design of traditional boxer briefs.

It retains the familiar shape, waistband, and legs. The evolution is focused on the front design, combining this familiar construction with a patented anatomical innovation.

This transformation creates new possibilities without changing the garment itself: greater freedom, more direct access, and a different everyday experience in terms of comfort, hygiene, and practicality.

The familiar boxer brief remains. It’s the front design that takes the next step.
